Sounds corny, yeah I know. Researchers have established that tree do some communication. A tree under insect attack releases chemical compounds to help fend off the attack, what is surprising is that nearby trees also produce the same compounds although they are not under attack. How did they know trouble was on the way? Makes you wonder!
With spring a ways off, now is a good time to go through the seed catalogues, clean up the garden tools, and sharpen those hand pruners.
Great time to prune those fruit trees, ok pick a nice day to do this, who wants to work in a sleeting freezing rain anyway.
