Awake and alive

A couple of months back I was at work on a Monday morning and suddenly my life changed in a flash. Rushed to the hospital I became the center of attention for what looked to me dozens of people. They all had the look of real concern in their faces. I was taken back, oh I'm ok I thought as I was wheeled thru the hallways into an elevator and into a weird science lab.
My next thoughts were "holy shit" this could be "it"! A doctor, I mean a real doctor who knew what he was doing stepped forward and told me he found the problem! I have a problem? News to me, I thought that pain I was feeling was just going to go away, I did take an aspirin. They finished and wheeled me into a big room where my relieved family came in and showered me with mixed emotions. I was admonished for scaring them and to reform my wayward ways.
Whisked off to the "ICU", I was again attended to my a myriad of nurses, technician and doctors. And in a few days I was back home, changed for ever. Good, bad or otherwise, I am alive!
Moral of the story, always carry an aspirin.
