Random thoughts of a consulting arborist on trees, people and places. Spending a little to much time driving around talking to myself.

Happy Walsh Day
Today is the 163rd anniversary of the arrival of James Walsh, my great 4x grandfather to the country. Thank you James for getting on the right boat and not the one to South America or Australia. Because of some quick thinking and more likely having only enough money for passage for five to New York here we are today. When you think of all the happy accidents that happened through history that make our lives possible it blows your mind. The Black Death, the Plague, numerous wars, battle of Cork, battle of Hastings (not to leave out the Verity side of the family ot the McDermotts or McCue's), it's small wonder we are here at all.
